3D Modeling: Chapter 4 1/16/19


The main difference between NURBS and Poly objects is that NURBS objects are composed of curved patches where Poly objects are composed of rectangle patches. Poly objects tend to be higher in detail.

Learned how to create polygons in MAYA. Interactive creation allows you to bypass most of the work of creating an object by using the mouse or pen to drag the dimensions of the object on the plane.

Learned how to select vertices, faces, and edges to manipulate an object.

Soft selection allows you to fall off your selection and give the object a more organic feel. 
symmetry allows you to select components along the axis.

The combine tool allows you to combine multiple pieces of an object into one final piece. The separate tool does the opposite, it separates a final piece into smaller components.

Boolean allows you to cut from an object or to add two objects together. We cut vents into this tv by using Boolean difference.


Used the brush tool tto sculpt on to a mesh. Their are many tools that help to smooth out and create organic meshes.
